The academic life of professors of the Escuela Normal Bilingüe e Intercultural de Oaxaca during the COVID-19 pandemic

Abstract

The education sector was one of the hardest hit by the COVID-19 pandemic. The confinement led to the search for new forms of teaching work in basic education, but also the academic life of teachers in Higher Education Institutions was disrupted. The case of the Escuela Normal Bilingüe e Intercultural de Oaxaca was no exception. The circumstances led to the construction of new forms of integration between students, teachers and the community, which allowed the completion of the school cycles, but they also contributed to the professionalization of teachers in technologies and to unifying seminars and evaluations. The aims of this
paper are to analyze and understand the academic life of ENBIO professors during the pandemic in order to learn about the difficulties they have faced, for example, the digital divide, and their commitments to reduce it.
